Comments: My deepest sympathies go out to all his family and friends. As I am up working on our library site, his IM is still there. What an inspiration he was to so many. I appreciated his encouragement, his uber techie guidance and willingness to be helpful. To say it one last time. Thank you. You rock.

Comments: In looking over the e-mail that hasn't been deleted from my "inbox," I 've found several messages sent by Len. Some have been deleted, but I just can't bring myself to delete them all. Len is still a part of our system and will be even after all of the e-mails have been deleted. But, just keeping at least one e-mail seems to keep his memory with us.

Len, you appreciated and shared my love for “words” and encouraged me to keep on writing. This one’s for you.
You saved my life
But not from death
So brief was time
To know you.
No problem insurmountable
No task could slow you down
No day gone by without your touch
No frown left upside-down.
The Len I know is a
Sunshine day that never ends
A chapter of life’s most urgent
Lessons, a kindred spirit true.
Remember us, Len--
Become our Muse
As we will never let you go
Alone on this, your journey Home.
You saved my life
But not from death
So brief was time To know you.
Len has been a “guiding light” to myself and to so many in the “Library World.” No question asked of him was too minor for his attention, nor too complex for him to answer.
I sought him out from both of my career libraries, Rock Valley College and South Beloit Public. From both of those very different perspectives he never wavered in providing the clarity I needed to make better decisions. But, more than that, I feel blessed to have experienced a rare person who leaves each one he touches with a little gem of himself that gives life the “sparkle” that enriches our own lives.
My deepest sympathy to Len’s family, his wife and daughter, as well as his PALS family and countless friends, colleagues and associates.

Comments: On behalf of the United Township H.S. library staff, I would like to extend our sincere sympathy to the family of Len Lindquist and to everyone on the PALS staff. I met and worked with Len on the PALS committee to combine our catalogs into what is now Prairie Cat. Len was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. I enjoyed working with him on this committee. He will be greatly missed by all of us.

Comments: My heartfelt sympathy goes to Len's family. I didn't know Len well, but I can echo what so many others have said--that he was consistently friendly and helpful. Whenever others--who did know him well--spoke of him, it was always with high regard, not only for his professional ability but also his character. Clearly, he was one of the "good guys" and our little corner of the world has been diminished by his loss.

Comments: My sympathy to Len's family. Len will be missed by so many people...his family who knew him the best but also by all of us who worked with him at the library system. Len was always patient and helpful whenever I had a question. He seemed to lead a happy, full life and I'm sorry that it ended much too soon.
